Soldering Technician -  Multiple Openings

A contract manufacturer located in the Westford Mass area is looking to hire several Solderers for temp to hire positions.
 

Responsibilities of the Soldering Technician:
  • Perform hand soldering. In addition to hand soldering will also clean, rework and fabricate parts, components and subassemblies by using scopes and basic hand tools and special devices for the production of components and assemblies.
  • Perform Solder assignments to fabricate parts and/or components or perform preparation tasks requisite to fabrication. Requires the use of basic hand tools, special fasteners, soldering iron and measuring devices.
  • Following all written work instructions, process sheets and drawings.
  • Perform hand soldering of Through Hole, SMT, or Flex product while using a scope. Prepares wire by cutting, stripping, twisting, tinning and solders, fastens wires, cables, resistors, capacitors and other parts and components to pwb's, connectors, and assemblies.
  • Cleans parts and hand places components during production processes using in-line clean, hand clean and or vapor degreaser.
  • Required to measure and record product data. Follows all ESD procedures.
  • May also operate soldering equipment such as solder wave, selective solder, surface mount equipment, and special parts preparation equipment. 
  • Use safety practices and takes prompt action to correct problems.
 
Requirements of the Soldering Technician:
  • High School education or equivalent, plus one-year similar manufacturing experience including microscope soldering or 6 months experience plus current IPC-610 & J-STD certificate.
  • Required to pass J-STD-OOI and IPC-A-610 certification to be qualified to perform the job duties of a Solder.
