Job Description
Inspector - Direct Hire
A well-known company in the aerospace industry is seeking for an Inspector in Wilmington, MA. This is a direct hire opportunity for someone with previous related experience.
Responsibilities of the Inspector:

Performs all duties associated with incoming inspection of development and production material and/or finished products
-
Performs a large variety of complex inspections and analytical processes while exercising sound judgment in the selection of tools, equipment, fixtures and measuring devices.

Inspects and tests production parts using mechanical and electrical measuring equipment.

Responsible for calibration of inspection tooling as well as supporting calibration requirements for production assembly as required
-
Process improvement and Operational Excellence participation: Proactively support opportunities to improve inspection processes and techniques Support may be in the form of suggestions and/or active participation with engineering teams focused on process improvement and Operational Excellence initiatives utilizing formal tools such as six sigma, lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen and others

Performs manufacturing operations as required by verbal instruction, engineering drawings, manufacturing or quality documents and other standards
Requirements of the Inspector:

High School Diploma, 5-7 years’ experience
-
CMM Experience – Ability to use a CMM (Coordinate Measurement Machine) is a must. Ability to write CMM programs strongly preferred.

Experience with prototype development using engineering sketches, notes and drawings
-
Capable of understanding and applying geometrical tolerances in accordance with ASME Y14.5M-1994.

Demonstrated capability of measurement techniques.
