Leading food product machinery manufacturer in Concord, NH is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join their growing team as a direct hire role.
Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer:
- Develop and maintain various electrical projects for commercial cooking equipment components while meeting all customer, manufacturing, and agency requirements.
- Perform electrical system verification and validation testing.
- Develop PCB layouts, perform component placements and determine wire routings in addition to testing and analyze system results.
- Ensure designs implement proper technologies and techniques.
- Coordinate activities to complete prototype and field testing in order to mature and validate the design of components and assemblies and meet customer needs for equipment design.
- Coordinate project activities to ensure smooth release of products into contract manufacturing meeting customer requirements and established timelines.
- Perform risk assessment tests and use results to improve design and reduce risks before reaching manufacturing.
- Contribute to the launch of new programs with manufacturing.
- Write technical papers on significant findings that can be used as a sales training aid, help promote new products, or to be published in technical journals.
- Maintain laboratory notebooks to document the creation and development of new inventions.
- Prepare invention disclosures, and work with corporate attorneys in researching, writing, and filing patent applications.
Requirements of the Electrical Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering and or equivalent Experience
- Reference “Engineering Technical Ladder” for position levels.
- Strong and proficient skills in electrical, schematic and PCB design.
- Design and document test fixture for validation of PCB or electrical designs.
- Demonstrable skills in creating formalized specification documentation, program flow charts, and operation manuals.
- Ability to read and understand hardware schematics and datasheets.
- Ability to use electrical test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and data acquisition systems.
- Familiarity with electronic computer-aided design (ECAD) software suites (i.e. Altium, OrCAD).
- Knowledge of software testing and evaluation a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus.
- Knowledge of SPI, I2C, serial, and CAN bus communication protocols a plus.
- Familiarity of higher-layer protocols (i.e. TCP/UDP, Modbus) a plus.
- Knowledge of PLC programming a plus.
